My involvement with the association
As a psychotherapist running my own practice «Familie entsteht», I have been supporting people since 2017 through the sensitive phase of starting a family, helping them find resilience and reconnect with their inner strengths. Since 2021, I have brought this experience to the board of Periparto – alongside insights from my ongoing exchanges with those affected and with fellow professionals.
What I find particularly compelling about Periparto is its deliberate engagement across multiple levels: beyond those directly affected, the organisation's offerings also reach families, professionals and employers – because effective support emerges from the interplay between all these actors. Time and again in my work with families, I witness just how valuable and impactful these connections can be. It matters deeply to me that people experiencing a mental health crisis around the start of family life receive timely, appropriate support, and that feelings of shame and guilt no longer stand in the way of seeking help. The beginning of family life should be experienced by everyone involved as a time of strength, connection and confidence.
