“Difficult pregnancy, loss of autonomy, rapid isolation”
I think everything started during my pregnancy. Around 5.5 months, pain under my belly and on each side of my groin appeared, increasing until delivery. For the last two and a half months, I could not stand for more than 5 minutes. I had no choice but to lie down for hours to relieve these pains that the medical community did not recognize. The intensification of pain at work (the sitting position was unbearable) made my body scream “stop,” but unfortunately, I was not heard quickly by my gynecologist.
My personal research led me to identify Lacomme syndrome. Diagnosis confirmed late by my gynecologist. This unrecognized bed rest during the last months of my pregnancy, the loss of autonomy, and rapid isolation -> impossible to drive (unbearable vibrations), demoralized me. I took refuge in sleep to make time pass more quickly.
