The adjustment to a new life situation can be genuinely challenging, and low moods and uncertainties are quite normal during this time. But when should you consider the possibility of pregnancy depression — and what support is available?
For a long time, it was incorrectly assumed that pregnancy protects against depression. As a result, depression during pregnancy is less well known and less well researched than postpartum depression. Yet pregnancy, just like the period after childbirth, is a vulnerable time when the risk of mental health crises can be higher.
