The weeks and months around birth are among the most transformative of a person's life. Struggling during this time is not a sign of weakness. It is a health reality that affects one in five mothers, as well as many fathers and co-parents, all over the world. And yet the shame and the silence persist — because too many people still believe they are the only ones feeling this way.
Connection as the path to recovery
We heal where we feel held. «Stronger Together» is a call to all of us — as individuals, as families, as professionals — to show up for one another.
If you are struggling: There is a way through, and you do not have to find it on your own.
If someone you love is struggling: Your presence matters more than you know.
For us at Periparto: We are here to connect you with people who get it — and who can help.
A new home for our community: periparto.ch
To mark this day, we have relaunched our website with expanded support and a clearer path to help. This is more than a website — it is a place to land. Whether you are personally affected, supporting someone close to you, or working in healthcare, you will find what you need: accessible, practical, and available in four languages. We have also added guidance for employers, because supporting parents through this season of life should be part of every workplace. No one in Switzerland should go without help because of a language barrier — and now, even less so.
Something small you can do today
Use this day to open a conversation. Ask how someone is really doing. Share a resource. Listen without trying to fix. Sometimes the smallest gestures leave the deepest mark.
Healing starts when we stop pretending everything is fine. Together we are stronger — for you, for your child, and for a future where perinatal mental health is nobody's secret shame.
Take that first step. Or reach out to someone who needs to. Everything you need is waiting at our new website.
